Fractional CTO Washington: Cloud Platforms That Ship

For teams in Seattle and Washington, DC that need a CTO to design the cloud platform, build it and keep it running, not just review the diagram.

The core decision

A fractional CTO Washington teams can give the AWS keys to

Washington means two different markets: Seattle, where most products are cloud-native from the first commit, and the DC area, where software has to stand up to procurement and security reviews. A fractional CTO Washington companies hire from me covers both the same way: architecture written down, code reviewed or written, and the deployment owned, on Pacific or Eastern hours.

AWS run by the person who designed it

As a solutions architect I designed microservices that talked over RabbitMQ and managed the AWS infrastructure they ran on: Elastic Beanstalk, EC2, Route 53, CodePipeline and RDS. In an engagement I own the account too: costs, backups, deploys and the alarms that wake someone up. A design and its operation belong to the same person.

Access control that survives a security review

Omnitech CRM keeps the tenant boundary, the permission and the record scope as three separate layers, each with its own tests. That separation is what lets you answer a reviewer’s question about who can see what with code instead of a promise.

Platforms that take real traffic

miBoletazo, a bilingual event-ticketing platform with assigned seating, protected checkout and venue scanning, is the kind of system where a slow or wrong answer costs a sale at the door. The same habits apply to any Washington product with a busy launch day.

Fit

Who this helps

  • Seattle startups whose AWS bill and architecture grew faster than anyone planned.
  • DC-area companies that need clear answers on data separation and access control.
  • Teams moving from one server to a multi-tenant platform.
  • Founders who need a CTO in the room and one who can still deploy on a Friday.

Scope

What I take on

  • Architecture and stack decisions, written down with their reasons
  • Hands-on development: Laravel, Node.js, Next.js, Python, Flutter and React Native
  • Deployment and cloud operations on AWS, from CI/CD to monitoring and backups
  • Multi-tenant SaaS design: tenant isolation, roles and permissions, per-tenant settings
  • Integrations, data migration and legacy systems, including ones with no API
  • AI features on your own infrastructure when they pay for themselves

Deliverables

What you get

  1. A technology roadmap tied to what the business needs this quarter
  2. Code, infrastructure and releases you own, in your repositories and accounts
  3. A written decision record your next engineer can read
  4. A weekly working session on US hours, plus async updates

Explore all services β†’
Do you cover Washington State and Washington, DC?

Yes, both, remotely: Pacific hours for Seattle and Eastern hours for the DC area. As a fractional CTO Washington clients get the same plans either way.

What does it cost?

Four monthly plans: CTO advisory at $1,500 for 20 hours, Fractional CTO at $2,800 for 40 hours, CTO plus build at $4,800 for 80 hours, and a full-time equivalent at $8,000 for 160 hours. Ad hoc work is $75 an hour. A US fractional CTO usually charges $170 to $250 an hour, and that rarely includes writing the code.

Do you work on US hours?

Yes. I work full time on US time zones, remotely, with a weekly working session and the same-day answers a product team needs. I do not have a local office and do not claim one.

Which cloud do you use?

Mostly AWS, which is what my platforms run on. I will work in the cloud you already have; the first review says what to change and what to leave alone.
