Fractional CTO Texas: Development, Deployment and IT

For Texas businesses that need a CTO to own the whole IT picture: the software, the integrations, the point of sale and the cloud it runs on.

The core decision

What a fractional CTO Texas business gets

Texas companies, from Austin software startups to Dallas and Houston operators in restaurants, retail, logistics and healthcare, often need a CTO for the whole IT estate rather than one app. A fractional CTO Texas engagement with me covers the architecture, the development, the integrations between systems and the deployment, on Central hours. Austin fractional CTOs typically bill $200 to $275 an hour; my plans start at $1,500 a month.

Restaurant and retail technology, end to end

At Omnitech I led DinDin, a restaurant suite of online ordering, POS, back office, kitchen and customer displays, and marketplace integrations that turned GrubHub and DoorDash order emails into native orders with no API to call. IMFlow360 took the same ideas to a multi-tenant POS with an offline-first Flutter terminal.

One owner for software, integrations and cloud

Most Texas operators do not need another vendor; they need someone accountable for how the vendors fit together. That means the data flows between systems, the AWS account they run in, and a plan for the ones that break first.

Apps your staff use every day

The Pinnacle Hospitality Management System, with iOS and Android apps for projects, tasks, payroll and HR, was built end to end and is still live on the App Store and Google Play. Internal tools like that are often the fastest return a Texas operator gets from a CTO.

Fit

Who this helps

  • Restaurant, retail and hospitality groups running POS, online ordering and delivery platforms side by side.
  • Austin SaaS startups that need their first architect and a hands-on reviewer.
  • Operators whose systems do not talk to each other, some with no API at all.
  • Businesses preparing for the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act’s rules on personal data.

Scope

What I take on

  • Architecture and stack decisions, written down with their reasons
  • Hands-on development: Laravel, Node.js, Next.js, Python, Flutter and React Native
  • Deployment and cloud operations on AWS, from CI/CD to monitoring and backups
  • Multi-tenant SaaS design: tenant isolation, roles and permissions, per-tenant settings
  • Integrations, data migration and legacy systems, including ones with no API
  • AI features on your own infrastructure when they pay for themselves

Deliverables

What you get

  1. A technology roadmap tied to what the business needs this quarter
  2. Code, infrastructure and releases you own, in your repositories and accounts
  3. A written decision record your next engineer can read
  4. A weekly working session on US hours, plus async updates

Do you serve all of Texas as a fractional CTO TX businesses can hire?

Yes, remotely, on Central time: Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and anywhere else. The plans and the work are the same in every city.

What does it cost?

Four monthly plans: CTO advisory at $1,500 for 20 hours, Fractional CTO at $2,800 for 40 hours, CTO plus build at $4,800 for 80 hours, and a full-time equivalent at $8,000 for 160 hours. Ad hoc work is $75 an hour. A US fractional CTO usually charges $170 to $250 an hour, and that rarely includes writing the code.

Do you work on US hours?

Yes. I work full time on US time zones, remotely, with a weekly working session and the same-day answers a product team needs. I do not have a local office and do not claim one.

Can you take over systems another vendor built?

Yes. The first two weeks are a written review of the code, data and infrastructure, with what to keep, fix or replace before anything new is built.
